Jane passed away Friday, May 5, at her son’s home in Clinton, Utah. She was born May 29, 1943, in Evanston, to Virgil Elwin Barnes and Dorothy Fearn Barnes.

She grew up and attended schools in Evanston until high school. The family moved to San Francisco, California, where she attended and graduated from George Washington High School in 1961.

She married Rudolf Jack Johnson Sr. in 1962, and together they had three children: Tonya, Rudy Jr. and Virgil. They later divorced.

She worked at Flying J and later retired from Walmart in Evanston after 25 years.

Jane enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing solitaire, solving puzzles and bowling. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Jane is preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; daughter, Tonya; brother, Terry Barnes; sister, Melody Barnes; and aunt, Alice McGraw.

She is survived by her sons, Rudolf and Virgil (Connie); sisters, Penny Agrigado of Hawaii and Tina Bradley of Wyoming; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 28, at the Evanston Machine Shop, 1440 Main St., Evanston.
