Brenda Kay Moore, of Evanston, is survived by her spouse, Brent Moore; daughter, Leilani; stepchildren, Robert (Amy) Moore and Krissy (Riz) Bhanji; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five sisters (Karen, Kathy, Pat, Sandra and Sofia); and her beloved dogs.

Brenda was the second child of Juan Hernandez and Ernistine Kelly. At 2 years old, she contracted polio, and the family moved to Panama for her treatment, which was successful for a full recovery.

After two years in Panama, they moved to Spain, where she would remain for 18 years. In Spain, she fell in love with horses and became an experienced rider. In her teens, she earned the opportunity to stunt ride in the movies for Raquel Welch.

She continued stunt riding until she was given the most impossible ultimatum, leave Spain and return to the U.S., or lose her American citizenship. She returned to the states and landed in Cheyenne, working in the food service area at F.E. Warren base.

This move resulted in meeting the love of her life, Brent. They would go on to enjoy 40 wonderful years together and almost 33 years of marriage.

Shortly after meeting Brent, she moved to Ft. Collins, Colorado, where they lived for 25 years. After Brent’s retirement, they then moved back to Brent’s hometown of Evanston in 2010, where she enjoyed the great outdoors, spending time with family, and a quieter lifestyle until her passing.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Herb.

Viewing will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, at Crandall Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, also at Crandall’s in Evanston.
