Karen (Maxfield) Lee, age 83, passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on Friday, July 5.

She was born on June 6, 1941, in Lyman, to Everett Tripp and Sarah Afton (Syme) Maxfield.

She married the love of her life, Henry Lee, on June 6, 1961, in Green River. They made their family home in Lyman, where they went on to have four children: Beverly (Jerry) Arthur, Darren (Liz) Lee, Julee (Colt) Beddoes and Deanna (Scott) Birch.

She worked at Little America and Golden Eagle as a waitress. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to spend time in the great outdoors hunting, camping and fishing. She also loved spending time with her family and friends, who eventually became honorary family members.

She is survived by her son, Darren; her daughters, Beverly and Julee; her grandchildren, Jenilee (Steven) Schwartz, Tara Arthur, Katie (Greg) Smith, Rawdy (Ashlee Guymon) Snyder, Tori (Statler Paxton) Degn, Jerico (Mikayla) Birch, Sarah (Roger) Huxhold, Shayla (Jake) Young, Courtney (Matt Ryan) Lee, Afton Lee and Everett Lee; and great-grandchildren, Shyln Schwartz, Cirica Arthur, Jaedyn Snyder, Paisley Monk, Haley Smith, Calvin Smith, Gracie Young, Nolan Huxhold, Julian Birch, Graham Smith, Evalyn Young and Koe Paxton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee; parents, Everett and Sarah Maxfield; brothers, Everett, Alden, Lewis and Darius; sisters, Gloria and Dorothy; daughter, Deanna; son-in-law, Jerry; and her grandson, Kegan.

Viewing will be Friday from 6-8 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon, at the Lyman LDS church at 127 N. Main St. in Lyman, followed by graveside service at 1 p.m. at the Lyman Cemetery.
