Posted

Janet Marie Sharp passed away on Monday, July 8. In November of 2022, we found out she had stage 4 metastasized breast cancer. She fought a good fight all the way to the end. She’s no longer in pain and is at peace now.

Janet was always full of spunk and laughter, always loved being around people and let’s not forget her cats. She touched the hearts of all who knew her.

She was born Janet Marie Laber in Ft. Lewis, Washington.

She is survived by her husband, Rodney Sharp; her daughter, Stephanie Bacon; her grandson, JJ Bacon; granddaughter, Erin Bacon; her sister, Judy (Doug) Smith; her brother, Jim (Laura) Laber, her mother- in- law, Rochelle (John) Jenkins; and several nieces and nephews.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Marie Laber; and brother-in-law, Darryl Sharp.

A celebration of life will be held from noon until 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the train depot in downtown Evanston.

In Lieu of flower’s please donate to one of these charities: Family House Inc. in San Francisco, which holds a special place in her heart because it helped support her grandson JJ when he was in need and still helps when he goes to his appointments at UCSF — https://give familyhouseinc.org/campaign/569 /99/donate — or to Alley Cat Rescue in Janet’s honor for her love of cats — https:/Avww.saveacat.org/donate.html.
