Barbara Elaine Brooks Harvey was born in her childhood home on July 24, 1937, in Evanston. Barbara was the second of two children born to Albert and Elaine Brooks. She was raised and attended school in Evanston.

Barbara married Wes Harvey on Jan. 5, 1956, in her childhood home. Wes and Barbara lived in several states including Oregon, Montana and California before finally settling in Mountain View. Together they enjoyed bowling and were known for square dancing in Wyoming, Utah and Idaho.

Wes and Barbara are the parents of two boys, Brad and Bret. Barbara really had her hands full raising two rambunctious boys.

Barbara worked for 39 years in the lunchroom of Uinta County School District No. 4. She enjoyed seeing her children and her grandchildren at lunchtime.

Her love for Mountain View athletics began while raising her two sons, Brad and Bret. This then began her long love for the color purple. Barbara could be seen in her purple Buffalo jacket summer or winter.

She continued attending sporting events through 2024. She was recognized at a Mountain View basketball game in February of 2024 as a “true Buffalo fan.” This was the last time Barbara was able to attend a Mountain View athletic event.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Elaine Brooks; her brother, Keith Brooks; and her husband, Wes Harvey.

She is survived by her sons, Brad Harvey and Bret (Jenny) Harvey; grandchildren, Jason (Whitney) Harvey, Tana (Justin) Kofford, Kyle (Kaycie) Harvey, and Marci (Wyatt) Tolbert; and great-grandchildren, Jax, Cooper, Emberly, Taygen, Charlie, Gage, Canon, Rylee, Zoey, and Jhett.
