Support 1/2 cent tax ballot initiative

Posted

We have come together to publicly express our support for the 1/2 cent tax for economic development on the Aug. 20 primary ballot. We believe this tax is an important investment in our local economy and for our local communities.

Since the economic shock of 2009-10, local economic development efforts have worked tirelessly to help strengthen and diversify our local economy. With limited resources, economic development has helped create jobs across the county.

Many of those jobs have been in manufacturing. For every one manufacturing job we create, we are able to support 4.5 additional jobs. That means more small businesses across our community are here today because we proactively worked to make Uinta County the place for workers and businesses.

There is more work to do, and the 1/2 cent tax will adequately fund economic development projects and programs across Uinta County. As local residents, business owners, and professionals, we support Uinta County, and we support investing in our local economy.
