The Evanston High Scholl girl’s swim team went up against Jackson on Friday in their first meet of the season.
The team finished just 15 points behind Jackson but had some amazing races.
In the 200-yard freestyle relay the team of Jade Caves, Hannah Fackrell, Brooke Phillips and Charli Fadden finished second.
McKinzey Camphouse, a junior, won the 100-yard butterfly event with a time of 1:08.77 and qualified for state.
Charli Fadden won a close race in the second heat of the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 29.32.
“The girls swam great,” said coach Kate Schmidt,“especially considering they had a short time to prepare.
