The Reading Rumble is a fun activity that the Evanston Middle School teachers and staff put on for the students. The Reading Rumble encourages students to read more books and be more efficient with remembering the book.
Teachers and staff were amazed to find out how many kids decided to join this year’s Reading Rumble. There were a total of 180 kids who participated in the Reading Rumble. The teachers made the Reading Rumble so much fun for everybody.
Some activities included basketball, volleyball, 9-square, just dance, and there were practice stations for the kids who wanted to practice before their turn. The kids had an amazing time at the Reading Rumble this year. Good job to the EMS sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade Reading Rumble team!
It was a tight game among all the competitors, but each grade came out with winners. The sixth-grade winners are Dieter Lester, Liam Griffiths and Jace Bitton. The seventh-grade winners are Ashlynn Hill, Tayvri Mills, Nichole Collings and Tazlyn Peterson. The eighth-grade team winners are Wendell Hunolt, Lee Russell, Hayden Hasler and Zach Hills.
The seventh and eighth grades went undefeated, while sixth grade lost once in a close game and were able to come back and win. The prizes for the winning teams are a trip to Salt Lake City, lunch, Crumbl cookies, a visit to Barnes and Noble and maybe even laser tag.
