Luis Ibarra Loma, 59, passed away on Feb. 6, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Aug. 25, 1958, in Cicacalco, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Macario Ibarra Lopez and Emilia Loma Garcia. He was the oldest of 10 children.

On Feb. 14, 1981, he married the love of his life, Evalia Arteaga. In 1982, they planted their roots in Evanston. Luis owned El Rancho Grande Restaurant for more than 20 years. He also worked at Western Industrial, Inc. as a superintendent.

Luis was a kindhearted, generous and humble man who took pride in his hard work. He loved to spend time with his family, especially his three grandchildren. He enjoyed reading, traveling and learning new skills.

He is survived by his loving wife, Evalia; children, Luis (Mayra) Ibarra Jr., Cristina (Luis) Gonzalez, Jessica Emilia Ibarra and Jesus Alberto Ibarra; his mother, Emilia; and siblings, Teresa, Pedro, Maria Ester, Rosa, Gerardo, Efrain, Esmeralda, Edilberto and Macario.

Funeral Mass will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, in St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. A vigil with recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Friday evening. Viewing will be one hour prior to the Rosary and one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday.
