GREEN RIVER – The Evanston girls swim team finished fifth on Saturday at the Class 4A West Conference meet at Green River High School Aquatic Center.
Marie Davis qualified for state in the 500 and 200-yard freestyle during the preliminaries on Friday. McKinzey Camphouse made the state cut in the 200 IM during the finals on Saturday.
The Lady Red Devils will compete on Thursday at Green River for a “last chance” meet.
The state meet will be held Nov. 3 and 4 at Gillette.
Rachel Buzarde has qualified in the 50 free (27.32), 100 free (59.51), 200 free (2:12.15), 500 free (6:05.71), and the 100 backstroke (1:08.53). Jade Caves qualified in the 50 free (27.71). Camphouse will compete in the 50 free (27.75), 100 butterfly (1:07.67) and 200 IM (2:33.45). Davis became Evanston’s fourth state qualifier on Friday in the 500 (6:02.76) and 200 (2:11.28).
