EVANSTON — The Evanston Rodeo Series 25th anniversary started off with a bang and the celebration continues on June 30-July 1.
David Haskell, Payson, Utah, won the 40 and over tie down roping with a time of 14.10.
In the junior steer riding, Myles Carlson of Evanston was first with a score of 66. Hayz Madsen was second with a score of 62 and Evanston’s own Garrett Deardon was third with a score of 57.
Morgan King, Kaysville, Utah, won the tie down roping with a time of 9:63, and Ladd Howell of Lander was second with a time of 10:35. Trea Smith, Georgetown, Idaho, was third with a time of 12:17.
Wyatt Murray, Neola, Utah, won the 18 and under tie down roping with a time of 15:47.
Jett Proffit, Ft. Bridger, won the bareback riding event with a score of 69 and Wyatt Johnson, Payson, Utah, was second with a score of 63.
The ladies breakaway roping had a tie for first place with Tie-Darcy Grant, Bluffdale, Utah, and Taylor Latham, LaPoint, Utah, having identical times of 3:39. Hannah Giles was third with a time of 3:77.
Jesse Lindsay, Ogden, Utah, won the junior breakaway roping with a time of 4:50. Taylor Bowers, Lyman, was second with a time of 4:87 and Jackson Woolsey, Morgan, Utah, was third with a time of 5:19.
Monty and Scott Tubbs from Utah won the No. 10 team roping competition with a time of 7:00. Morgan King, Kaysville, Utah, and his partner Dax Bunot, Plain City, Utah, placed second with a time of 7:91. Sierra Stoll of Mt. View and Ryan Salier from Robertson placed third with a time of 8:22.
Kai Rockhill, Oakley, Utah, won the saddle bronc riding with a score of 73. Shane Odenbach was second with a score of 66 and Kelly Short, Franklin, Idaho, was third with a score of 65.
Kacey Quarnberg, Grantsville, Utah, won the ladies barrel riding with a time of 17:966. Rylee Dick, Oakley, Utah, was second with a time of 18.233 and Stephanie Kunz, Willard, Utah, was third with a time of 18:259.
In the junior barrel racing, AnnDee Belliston, Magna, Utah, won the event with a time of 18:694. Hadley Gross, Lyman, was second with a time of 19:396 and Kadence Martin from right here in Evanston was third with a time of 19:915.
Colton and Trae Smith, Georgetown, Idaho, won the No. 13 team roping event with a time of 6:59. Brett Martin from Evanston along with Tanner Pallesen, Manila, Utah, was second with a time of 7:02. The team of Clinton Kap, Plain City, Utah, and Troy Stoll, Mt. View, with a time of 7:26, placed third.
The ever-popular bull riding event was won by Hayes Weight, Goshen, Utah, with a score of 76. Tate Jones, Mapleton, Utah, was second with a score of 74 and third place was tie between Carsen Stroatman, Manila, Utah, and Donny Proffit, Kemmerer, each scoring 70 points
