The Evanston High School boys’ basketball team has moved from No. 5 to No. 4 in the latest coaches and media poll released Wednesday morning.
The Red Devils are 8-3 on the year and will begin Class 4A West conference play Thursday against Green River (10-1).
Evanston is coming off back-to-back wins. The Red Devils rolled to a 67-22-win against Lyman on Thursday before claiming a 56-46 win against Star Valley on Friday.
Cheyenne East (8-4) maintained its No. 1 spot in 4A, while Sheridan (8-3) is ranked second again. Green River improved from No. 4 to No. 3. The Wolves’ only loss this season was a 65-64 defeat against Sheridan on Jan. 5. Campbell County (7-4) moved from No. 3 to No. 5 to round out the top-five boys’ teams this week.
Rock Springs (7-4) received 24 votes, while Thunder Basin (4-7) received six
Mountain View (4-5) and Lyman (1-10) did not receive any votes in Class 3A.
The girls’ rankings will be released at midnight Thursday.
