Cross country notebook: Harmon leads the way for Mountain View

SARATOGA – Travis Harmon earned a first-place finish on Friday at the 2017 Saratoga Shana Ward Cross Country Invite to lead the Mountain View Buffalos to a second-place finish with 37 points.

Harmon won the race in 16:47, while Trenton Wells (17:48) was fourth and Justin Hamblin (17:52.55) was fifth to lead the Mountain View boys’ team.

Craig took home the team crown on the boys’ side, finishing with 29 points.

Tyler Rasmussen (18:27) of Lyman was 11th for the Eagles, who did not have a team score.

In the girls’ race, Mountain View took fourth as a team with 92 points. Emilee Benedict finished 13th in 22:36 to lead the way for the Lady Buffalos.

Kaleigh Douglas of Lyman finished seventh in 21:51.98 to lead the way for the Lady Eagles, who also did not score as a team.
