Bear River Riders release Gymkhana results

EVANSTON — The Bear River Riders met Saturday morning at the fairgrounds to hold their gymkhana. The last event of the year will be held August 13 at the Uinta County Fairgrounds and will decide the season winners.

On Saturday, there were 72 riders entered in the various events and the competition was tight.

In the walk-trot barrels event, Damian Westenskow rode Misty to take first place with a time of 48.690. Jazzy Mimura was second — this was the first time she competed — on Handy with a time of 53.950. Emilly Harris was third, riding Shilo, with a time of 54.270.

In the walk-trot poles event, Westenskow took first place with a time of 52.850. Emily Harris was second with a time of 68.530 and Karli Crompton rode Sophie to take third place with a time of 70.510.

Westenkow also won the bonus event with a time of 23.489, Emily Harris was second with a time of 27.420 and Jazzy Mimura was third with a time of 27.420.

In the barrel racing pee-wee event (10 years old and less) Erich Jaques was first riding Bella with a time of 22.27. Kinslee Jaques was in second place riding Niki with a time of 22.33 and Hunter Jaques was third on Smokie with a time of 24.86.

In the junior category (11-13) Sarah Woodland rode Caspian to take first place with a time of 20.74. Dani Rae Zwahlen finished in second place riding Cash with a time of 21.71. Kelse Nelson was third place riding Rosie with a time of 22.30.

In the youth event (14-17) McKenna Ivie won first place riding Geo with an amazing time of 20.08. Haley Langford rode Bailey to win second place with a time of 20.56 and Rylee Hatz rode Maverick to win third place with a time of 21.01.

The adult category (18-39) was won by Genesis Martinez riding Lad with the best time of the day of 20.05. Jessy Lester was second with a time of 20.83 and Stacy Crompton was third with a time of 21.14.

The over 40 category was won by Paige Woodland on Rio with a time of 20.34 and Steve Simonson rode Leo to second place with a time of 20.52. Karen Nelson on Peach was third with a time of 23.26.

Haley Langford won the schooling class on her horse Fanny with a time of 20.04. Terra Tonge rode Roxie to place second with a time of 20.35 and Makinsy Huntington was third on Tac with a time of 22.28.

In the poles, pee-wee class, Erich Jaques was first with a time of 25.91. Tessa Zwahlen was second with a time of 28.05 and Tracie Westerberg rode Widdles to take third place with a time of 28.8.

Sarah Woodland won the junior class with a time of 23.08. Travis Alexander was second, riding Pedro, with a time of 28.02. Dani Rae Zwahlen was third with a time of 29.31.

Rylee Hat won the youth division with a time of 24.92. Maggie Zwahlen was second with a time of 27.50 and Haley Langford was third with a time of 27.53.

Jessy Lester rode Yes to win the adult division with a time of 24.63. Stacy Crompton was second with a time of 27.54. Genesis Martinez was third with a time of 28.02.

Steve Simonson won the 40 and over division with a time of 29.25. Karen Nelson was second with a time of 30.32 and Ann VanWeerd rode Oreo to take third place with a time of 32.89.

Korbyn Tonge won the schooling category, riding Buddy, with a time of 43.02. Missy Harris rode Gracie to second place with a time of 51.13 and Emily Harris was third with a time of 54.54.

Damian Westenskow won the walk-trot high points for the day and Emily Harris was reserve.

Erich Jaques won the pee-wee high points and Tessa Zwahlen won reserve.

In the junior high point for the day, Sarah Woodland was first with Travis Alexander and Dani Rae Zwahlen tied for reserve.

The youth high point had McKenna Ivie and Rylee Hatz tied. Haley Langford was reserve.

Jessica Lester with Genesis won the adult division and Martinez won reserve.

The adult high point was won by Steve Simonson and Karen Nelson was in reserve.
