The Evanston High School cross country teams enjoyed beautiful weather, plenty of student support and home-field advantage Friday, with the Lady Devils winning the team title and the Red Devils finishing second at the Evanston Invitational, held at Purple Sage Golf Course.

The Lady Devils had five runners finish in the Top 10, led by Liesl Botts in fourth place, with a time of 21:58.30. Hallie Prete finished fifth (22:21.99), Kessnie Johnstone was sixth (23:16.83), Eliza Day followed in seventh (23:21.43) and Emma Lonsway rounded out the Top 10 contingent in eighth place (23:28.28).

On the boys’ side, senior Paul Baxter won the event with a time of 16:58.69, nearly a minute ahead of Mountain View’s Dash Madsen (17:56.54). Bryan Baxter finished ninth, with a time of 18:40.38.

Justin Moon finished just outside the Top 10, placing 11th with a time of 18:47.83. Emery Kohler (19:50.56) and Aidan Conrad (19:53.48) rounded out the Red Devils’ Top 5 finishers, placing 14th and 15th, respectively.

Other notable finishes on the girls’ side included Brette Francis (11th, 23:50.76),  Marley Renelle ( 17th, 24:25.87), Penelope Botts (18th, 24:33.03), Breanna Gillard (19th, 26:00.48), Sophia Olivas (21st, 26:44.54), Evie Stahl (23rd, 27:43.40), Nicole Schneider (24th, 27:44.06), Jenna Lowham (25th, 28:03.25), Sidney Liechty (26th, 28:18.25), Adalee May  (28th, 28:30.79), Roxana Ramirez (29th, 28:56.35), Karlee Moon (31st, 29:20.01), Kaylee Rex (33rd, 30:47.45), Randee Turner (36th, 32:02.52) and Kymbree Mitchell (41st, 40:12.61).
