The Evanston High School girls’ swimming and diving team hosted the Evanston Invitational Saturday at Davis Middle School, winning eight events, and finishing third as a team.

Green River won the team title with 353 points, followed by Riverton in second with 312 and the Lady Devils in third, with 192. Kemmerer (162) and Sublette County rounded out the Top 5.

EHS junior Rachel Johnson -- the defending 3A state diving champion -- won the diving event, with a score of 207.55. Teammate Peyton Gilmore finished third, with a score of 159.00, while Sydnie Peay placed seventh, with a score of 107.15.

In the swimming events, junior Brooklyn Larsen finished runner-up in both of her individual swims, placing second in the 50 freestyle (27.18) and the 100 freestyle (1:00.40).

Lyra Hutchinson notched a pair of third-place finishes in the 100 butterfly (1:17.70) and the 500 freestyle (6:23.54), while Cera Fadden placed sixth in the 200 individual medley (2:44.67).

Other notable performances included Clara Hutchinson in the 200 individual medley (8th, 2:53.09), Raquel Rasmussen in the 200 freestyle (14th, 2:38.21), Hanah Kolata in the 100 backstroke (15th, 1:27.15) and Ruby Hales in the 100 breaststroke (20th, 1:41.79).

The Lady Devils placed Top 5 in all three relay events, with the team of Clara Hutchinson, Cera Fadden, Raquel Rasmussen and Brooklyn Larsen leading off the meet with a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay (2:14.17). The team of Lyra Hutchinson, Clara Hutchinson, Cera Fadden and Brooklyn Larsen placed second in the 200 freestyle relay (1:53.72), while Lyra Hutchinson, Ruby Hales, Clara Hutchinson and Cera Fadden finished fourth in the 400 freestyle relay (4:31.14).

The Lady Devils have a busy week ahead, with a meet at Lyman Tuesday, then the Pinedale Invite Saturday.
