ERH named top 20 rural hospital again

EVANSTON — Evanston Regional Hospital was recently named by the National Rural Health Association (NRHA) for the second year in a row as one of the top 20 rural and community hospitals in the country. Previously, the hospital was recognized as a Top 100 rural and community hospital for three consecutive years.

The determining factors for the top 20 rural and community hospitals are based on eight indicators: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge, and finance.

“We are deeply honored that NRHA recognized Evanston Regional Hospital as a top provider of rural care in the nation,” said Cheri Willard, CEO of Evanston Regional Hospital. This prestigious recognition underscores the dedication of our team of physicians and staff. Our community can trust in our ongoing pursuit of excellence, and we are humbled to be a hospital people can rely on every day.”

NRHA announced the 20 highest-ranked prospective payment system hospitals in the country based on an evaluation by the Chartis Center for Rural Health. The hospitals are identified using the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX, the most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural PPS hospital performance. These hospitals will be recognized on May 9 during NRHA’s Annual Rural Health Conference in New Orleans.
