Vickie Lynne East Sharkey, 71, of Ogden, Utah, passed away on Feb. 7, in her home after a lifelong struggle with mental illness.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Feb. 20, at Crandall Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Evanston City Cemetery, 526 County Rd., Evanston. Crandall Funeral Home, located at 800 Uinta St. in Evanston, will handle the funeral arrangements.
Vickie was born in Ogden, Utah, to Emmett and Jackie East on April 22, 1946. She went to high school at Bonneville and Weber high schools, graduating in 1964. She went on to study at Weber State College where she enjoyed art classes.
She worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Utah and California on and off for 10-plus years. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, teaching Sunday school and being a den mother for Cub Scouts. She had a love of art and fashion.
Vickie is survived by her husband, Gerald, of Evanston; her son, Richard, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; her daughter, Suzanne Chambliss, of Sacramento, California; her two grandsons, Ian and Jacob, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; one brother and two sisters.
Vickie is preceded in death by her father, Emmett, and her mother, Jackie East.
