Thomas Jones was born to David L. and Theora Jones in Wyoming. He passed away at the age of 72 in Nevada from complications of COPD. He was raised on a Utah ranch, where he was taught to ride horses, one of his many loves.

He graduated from South Rich High School. He married Marjorie Britton in Utah and they had celebrated their 50th anniversary. There were no children born to this union.

Tom had many hobbies: riding and training horses, snowmobiling, getting firewood, reading, building and fixing fences, watching movies from the 1940s, ‘50s and 60s, eating Reese’s peanut butter cups, growing a garden and solving Sudoku puzzles.

He enjoyed a good cup of coffee with friends and he was a fan of the Utah Jazz. Tom had a great sense of humor and loved to tease. His favorite was to teach his nieces and nephews to blow their mashed potatoes.

He had a dislike for anything yellow, including yellow M&Ms.

He held many jobs over the years: an auto and diesel mechanic, farm machinery assembler, and a welding supervisor at Union Tank Car Company. He worked in Utah, Idaho and Wyoming.

When he retired from Union Tank Car Company, he moved back to Idaho onto an 80-acre farm. He built a home there and stayed for 10 years, until his health started to deteriorate. When the farm was sold, he became a full-time RVer. He loved going to Arizona for the winter, where it was warmer and he could enjoy the sunshine.

His sense of humor, laughter and tender heart will be missed by his wife, Marjorie; sister, Fern Coleman of Wyoming; brother, David Dee Jones of Utah; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and great nephews; special friends, Tom and Darlene Schulthess of Wyoming, Darla Butler and Gary and Annie Ledbetter of Idaho; special nephew Jay Feller and his wife Terri and family of Wyoming; and his dog, Chrissy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marie Jones Feller; nephews DeeWayne Jones and Gene Feller; and sisters-in-law Mary B. Jones and Irene C. Britton.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will not be a funeral. A celebration of his life will be held in the spring.
