The Rich County Fair kicked off in fine style this past Saturday in Randolph and Laketown, Utah, with an Alex Boyé concert. The festivities will continue for the rest of the week, featuring rodeos, shows and other activities. (Unless otherwise noted, evening activities will take place in the Randolph arena.) Remaining highlights include the following evening events:
• Volleyball games at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15 (registration costs $30 per team and teams can sign up at 6 p.m.)
• Junior rodeo at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16
• Jackpot team roping on Thursday, Aug. 17, at 5:30 p.m. (sign-up will take place at 4:30 p.m.)
• Free concert, Hired Guns, in the Randolph park at 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 18, followed by the RMPRA Broken Heart Rodeo at 7:30 p.m.
The Saturday events on Aug. 19 are many and varied, with activities for the whole family. The day will open with a 5K fun run/walk at 8 a.m. running in conjunction with breakfast from 8-10 a.m. in the Randolph park (breakfast costs $5 per person or $25 for immediate family). Other activities include the following:
• Cloverbud parade at 11 a.m. in the 4-H arena, followed by the junior livestock sale at 11:30 a.m.;
• Fish pond at 3 p.m. in the Randolph baseball field;
• Dutch oven cookoff in Randolph Town Park (sign-up starts at 2:30 p.m. and judging at 4 p.m.);
• Parade at 4 p.m. on Main Street;
• RMPRA Broken Heart Rodeo at 7:30 p.m. in the Randolph arena;
• Free concert by Saddle Strings in the park after the rodeo, followed by fireworks at dark.
