Melissa Kaye Fisher, age 48, passed away following a lengthy battle with cancer, on Friday, May 20, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Sept. 14, 1973, in Midwest City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Troy Wayne and Martha Mae (Hodde) Garmon. She grew up in the Guthrie area, and she graduated with the class of 1991. She attended Wyoming Community College, receiving a degree in early childhood development.
She married Merrill (JR) Bowman, Nov. 4, 1995, and together they had two daughters, Shelbey and Troyanna. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2012.
She married Noah A. Fisher on Oct. 8, 2014, in Evanston. Melissa was a true Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed football, baseball, Mickey Mouse, camping, Christmas, teaching and playing dominos. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Melissa is survived by her loving husband, Noah; children, Shelbey (Steven) Parrish, Troyanna Bowman, Tashia (Shawn) Mari and Christopher (Justine) Bowman; her father, Troy Garmon; brother, Mark (Denise) Garmon; sisters, Rhonda (Curtis) Ketch and Tammie (Jon) Brewer, Sissy (Junior) Davis and Cindy Garmon; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Melissa was preceded in death by TD and Nan Garmon, Herman and Minnie Hodde, Martha Garmon, Gerildine M. Bowman, David Anthony Garmon and an infant granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 3, at Crandall Funeral Home. Visitations will be Thursday, June 2, from 6-8 p.m., and one hour prior to services on Friday.
