Leonard “Glen” Defa

Leonard “Glen” Defa, passed away with his family by his side on Saturday, Nov. 20, in Provo, Utah. Glen was born on Dec. 6, 1958, in Evanston, where he was raised, to Johnnie Defa and Betty Ann Sheets Defa.

He married his eternal sweetheart, Katheran “Kathy” Peterson Defa on Dec. 26, 1981. They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on Aug. 11, 1989. Glen was a lover of the outdoors and rode ATVs his whole life.

He loved photography and took many, many photos wherever he went. He and Kathy have traveled to watch their grandkids perform and compete because they love spending time with them. Glen volunteered and served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He found a love for family history while serving at the Family History Center.

Glen is survived by his wife Kathy; daughters, Kim (Bucky) and Annie (Collin); son, Paul (Becky); son-in-law, Brad; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sisters, Liz and Johna (Craig).

He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie and Betty Defa; baby boy Defa; brother-in-law, Rick Crompton; and in-laws, Howard and Beverly Peterson.

Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 28, and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, with the funeral at 11 a.m., at the church located at 251 Elm St. in Evanston. Interment to follow at the Evanston City Cemetery.
