Kenneth Roy Warner, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Monday, March 16, at the Sunridge Assisted Living Center in Roy, Utah.

Ken was born in Coalville, Utah, on Nov. 17, 1943, to Alfred Roy and Alberta Mae Bean Warner. Ken loved sports. He was raised in Evanston and played football and basketball for Evanston High School. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and played basketball and baseball in the church league. He also coached his daughters’ basketball teams, and he enjoyed swimming, biking, hunting, fishing, being in the mountains and loved spending time with his family.

He married Sharon Lee Hollinger and together they had four beautiful daughters.  They later divorced but remained best of friends.

Ken received a degree in sociology from Weber State College and also worked at the Wyoming State Penitentiary for six years. He was a brakeman for the railroad and worked in the Evanston railroad shops.

Ken is survived by Sharon Warner; daughters, Julie (Jay) Hess of West Haven, Utah, Kendra (Bart) Reese of Plain City, Utah, Tina (Shareef) Shakur of Farr West, Utah, Noel (Rich) Post of West Point, Utah, and Maisen L. Warner of Clinton, Utah; 10 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; brother, Larry Warner; and sister, Sharon Faddis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by his sisters, Loretta Foreman and Carol Ann Warner.
