Kenneth Edward VanWeerd, 57, of Evanston, passed away Saturday, March 11, at Mc-Kay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah. Kenn was born Sept. 6, 1965, in Salt Lake City, to Fred Moroni and Maretta Moon VanWeerd Sr.

Kenn married Debbie Ciriello in Las Vegas on Oct. 21, 1997. Together they enjoyed camping and boating — Lake Powell was one of Kenn’s favorite places. He worked in hospitality at the Dunmar Inn in Evanston, where he made many friends.

Kenn loved cats and music. He played drums in the local band Don’t Tread on Me. 

Kenn is survived by his wife, Debbie; brothers, Fred (Ann) VanWeerd Jr., Mitch (Karen) VanWeerd, Quinton (Tami) VanWeerd and Troy VanWeerd; sister-in-law, Cyndi (Dale) Thompson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Sr. and Maretta; and brother, James VanWeerd.

He was loved by all who knew him.
