EVANSTON — Online registration is now available for Evanston Urban Renewal Agency’s “Jingle Bell Jaunt,” to be held on Dec. 9. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are invited to celebrate the season by participating in the event. Those interested can sign up at https://www.activity.com/selectactivity_tl.wcs.
Pre-registration is also available at City Hall and the Evanston Recreation Center. In addition, participants are welcome to sign up the day of the race at the Evanston Cultural Center, beginning at 8 a.m.
The 5K race will begin at 9 a.m. on Main Street outside the cultural center. Runners and walkers will head down Main Street, across Harrison and up Union Road before turning around and ending at Evanston City Hall.
Holiday cheer provided post-race at the cultural center will include hot cocoa, donuts, holiday movies and a visit from Old St. Nick. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finisher. There will also be drawings to give away prizes that were donated. Participants are encouraged to wear holiday attire (ugly Christmas sweaters, Santa’s elves, Rudolph, etc.) and jingle all the way.
If you have questions about 5K participation or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Kimberly Chapman at (417) 827-6355. You may also call the Evanston Urban Renewal Agency at (307) 783-6320 for information about the 5K.
