Francis John Passey

John “Stubz” Passey, of Evanston, passed away on the evening of April 6. He was born to Thomas and Beverly Henriksen Passey on Dec. 28, 1950.

After being raised in Evanston, John went on to explore many of the western United States while working a variety of jobs. He also lived in the Salt Lake Valley for some years before returning to Evanston in the 1980s, where he settled to raise his four children.

John was very adventurous throughout his life, with interests in motorcycles, hang-gliding and cars, to name a few. He was full of stories from any stage of his life. John was an amazing father, brother and friend.

John is survived by his three daughters: Jonni Passey, Amanda Stone and Nicole Velazquez. He is also survived by six grandchildren, five brothers and six sisters, along with many friends he considered family.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents, one brother, two sisters and his son.  

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at the Machine Shop in Evanston.
