EVANSTON — The Uinta County Herald recently welcomed a new sales representative, Alex Faini.
Faini grew up in South Dakota, and earned a degree in business administration with a specialization in management from Black Hills State University.
He said what he misses most about his hometown is his family, the scenery, and the new places that are constantly being built.
Faini has lived in Evanston for four years now with his growing family. Next month will mark 3 years that he and his wife, Katie, have been married. Katie teaches second graders at Uinta Meadows Elementary.
On March 24, the couple had their first born — a baby girl named Ramsey.
“We’re excited. It is long nights sometimes; when we get three hours of sleep, it feels like seven,” said Faini.
Before joining the Herald, Faini worked in advertising for KNYN Radio for three years, two of which he was the general manager. He said he really enjoyed it.
He said the most exciting thing that has happened to him occurred at his last job, which was interviewing country music legend Garth Brooks.
He said his goal at the paper is to see his clients and their businesses grow.
“The biggest joy I get out of it is helping businesses succeed,” said Faini.
He also helps businesses in other ways. Faini said he likes to eat anywhere in town because everywhere has something special for him to enjoy.
When he isn’t helping businesses, Faini is either enjoying the company of his wife and his new baby or working in his yard, which up until recently only consisted of shoveling snow, of course.
If money were no object, Faini said he’d buy tickets to every concert of his choice.
With his past experience and good character, Herald Publisher Mark Tesoro said Faini will be a good asset to the newspaper.
“I couldn’t be more excited to have Alex on board here at the Herald. He’ll truly be a great asset here, bringing a lot of marketing and sales knowledge to our business, plus he has a great rapport with many of our existing advertising accounts,” Tesoro said.
