Editor’s note: Information contained in this report is compiled from a daily activity log and an arrest record maintained by the Evanston Police Department. VIN inspections are not included. Those arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law; charges listed.

The Evanston Police Department responded to 85 incidents between the dates of Monday, July 31, and Wednesday, Aug. 2. Incidents included three alarms, four ambulance or medical assists, 19 animal problems, a simple assault, two citizen disputes, child abuse, three citizen assists, drugs, three DUIs, harassment, a juvenile problem, two missing persons, a noise problem, two parking problems, five suspicious incidents, four traffic accidents with property damage, a traffic hazard, a traffic offense, three thefts, two vagrants, a wanted person and a welfare check. 

The Evanston Police Department arrested four persons between the dates of July 31 and Aug. 2. 

Frederick P. Bauer, Sr., of Simi Valley, California, was arrested for driving while under the influence of drugs and alcohol and for driving while under suspension. 

Jay W. Gibson, of Salt Lake City, was arrested for public intoxication. 

Crystal L. Lundin, of Evanston, was arrested for a misdemeanor probation violation. 

Joshua J. Townsend, of Evanston, was arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol with a BAC of 0.08 percent or greater, for damaging private or public property and for purchasing/possessing alcohol under the age of 21.
