Earnest Emanuel Hranac

Earnest Emanuel Hranac, 75, died Tuesday, June 6, at home in Evanston. He was born July 19, 1941, in Riverton to William Victor Hranac and Lola Edna Fike. 

Earnest married Ivy Georgina North on Oct. 4, 1968, and the two were together for 48 years. 

He served in the United States Air Force, and after his discharge he went to school and got his electronic engineering degree from the Radio Electronics Institute and worked in the computer industry for most of his adult life. 

Later in his life, he and his wife drove semis across country until he retired. He enjoyed hunting and camping with his family.

Earnest is survived by his spouse, Ivy Georgina North; daughters Colleen Diana Robbins (Wade) and Ivysue Hranac (Wanda); and sons, Michael Larry Turner, Randy North Turner, Jeffrey Ray Turner and Larry Hranac. 

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, by two brothers Victor and Jewel Hranac and by his daughter Debra Jean Torrey.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the University of Utah Hospital and the nurses and staff at Home Health and Hospice of Evanston. Thanks also to all who called and sent messages, cards and flowers. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 16, at Jenkins & Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State St., Murray, Utah 84107. Viewings will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 15, and from 10-10:45 a.m. on Friday, June 16, prior to services. Interment will be at Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue “N” Street, Salt Lake City, Utah.
