Catharine Leigh Borst passed on Wednesday, March 10, due to complications from a fall.
Catharine (Cat, Petie) was born Sept. 19, 1948, to parents Bettie Jo Storey and Coolidge Staggs in Casper. At the time, the hospital gave her only days to live. Those days turned into 72 years.
She spent her early years in Evanston.
Catharine moved with her family to Alameda, California, in 1965. She graduated high school in San Leandro, California. Catharine received her associate’s degree from Chabot College in 1969. She was married to Kenneth Borst. They had one son, Kyle.
Catharine was very active in Eastern Star in Alameda, California, as well as White Shrine.
She is survived by her mother, Bettie Jo Gibson; her son, Kyle; her siblings, Candyce, Terrie, Toni and Daniel; many beloved nieces and nephews; and her very dear Eastern Star Family.
All are thankful for her presence in their lives and hopeful that her blessed spirit has achieved much-deserved rest and peace.
