EVANSTON — About 100 people came together Friday night to play craps, blackjack, roulette and other casino games in support of local youth. The Evanston Youth Club for Boys and Girls held its first spring Casino Night, raising $3,200. The club added the fundraiser due to the growing popularity of the same event the club holds each fall.
In addition to the games, attendees were treated to dinner, drinks and a raffle. Although the crowd was smaller than the fall Casino Nights, youth club CEO Holly Slade-West said it was a fantastic night.
“We are so appreciative of our community’s support in raising needed funds for youth programs,” she said. “This would not have been possible without our sponsors, attendees, and raffle donors. Our average monthly operating cost is $25,000, events like this literally help us keep the doors open to provide life-changing programs for our youth.”
The club’s next big event is its annual recognition dinner, which will be held May 10.
