Anna Lou Thompson

Anna Lou Thompson, 94, died peacefully on February 2, 2023, with family by her side. 

Anna Lou was born March 22, 1928, in Robertson, to Joseph and Selma Carpenter.  She was the oldest of five, with brothers Duane, Derrill, Don and Gary Carpenter, and was member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints. 

She grew up in Mountain View, and after graduating from high school in 1946 moved to Evanston, where she met and married Joseph (JR) Andersen and they had seven children together.   They later divorced and, years later, she met and married the love of her life, Marion Thompson, on Sept. 29, 1973. 

They moved to Lander in 1978 where they lived for 36 years before returning to Evanston.  She belonged to the VFW Auxiliary, enjoyed bowling, dancing and being on the riverbanks of the Greys River and in the Sinks Canyon with Marion by her side.

Anna Lou is survived by her children: Ed Andersen (Mary) of Casper; Linda Bonner of Evanston; Gene Andersen (Sandy) and Susan Barker (Dennis), both of Mountain View; Michelle Burkart (Scott) of Puyallup, Wash.; Richard and David Andersen, deceased.  She is also survived by stepchildren Brett Thompson of South Dakota, Marla Troutman of Casper, Royce Thompson (Keri) of Lusk, and Rita Thompson of Minnesota; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and 16 great-great-grandchildren.  Funeral services were held on Feb. 8, interment was at the Ft. Bridger Cemetery.
