Webb announces run for state legislature

I love Uinta County and Wyoming and want the very best for the citizens of Uinta County and Wyoming. Because of my love for the community and my extensive community involvement, I am announcing that I will be filing as a candidate for the House District 19 seat of the Wyoming State Legislature.

Challenging conditions and unknown economic times require efficient and accountable representatives. Because of my vast experiences in tough situations, and the fact that I am truly a fiscally-minded conservative Republican, I feel I can contribute to guiding us through these challenges.

My whole life has been about public service. I spent 16 years in law enforcement — seven years with the Wyoming Highway Patrol and nine years with the Lyman Police Department. At the Lyman Police Department, I served four and a half years as the investigator, and four and a half years as the chief of police.

Prior to retiring a year ago, I spent 25 years in the IT field, where I served as the technology director for the Lyman school district for nine years and the technology director for the Mountain View school district for 14 years.

I also ran my own computer and network support business where, for 20 years, I supported such entities as the Town of Lyman, the Town of Mountain View, the Bridger Valley Joint Powers Board, as well as other private companies and individuals.

I have a very supportive family. My wife, Sharon, and I have lived in Bridger Valley for nearly 40 years and raised our five children here. Sharon was a school teacher in the Lyman school district for many years prior to retiring two years ago.

Soon we will welcome our 13th grandchild, nine of whom live in Wyoming, five in Bridger Valley. We certainly have a vested interest in this community and this state we all call home.

I took an oath 40-plus years ago to preserve, support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America and the Constitution of the State of Wyoming. I still live by that oath.

Representing and helping my constituents will be my highest priority. I invite you to learn more about me and what I stand for. I am asking for your support and would appreciate your vote in the primary election which will be held on Tuesday, Aug 20.
