Wyoming Downs opens racing season

Wyoming Downs kicked off their racing season this past weekend. The warm weather combined with good racing, food and drink, brought out a good crowd for races. 

Wyoming Downs will be holding races every weekend, Saturday and Sunday, through Aug. 13. The gates open at 11:30 a.m. and the first race starts at 1:05 p.m.

To start the season off Eyessa Special Cirrus, ridden by Luis Peralta, won the first quarter horse futurity trail in a close race but won 300 yard race with a time of 15.600. Eyessa Special Cirrus is owned by Steve W. Day and trained by Jesse Villegas. This was the horse’s third start and has won two races and came in second one time. The win paid 6.60 to win, 4.60 to show and 3.40 to place.

Eyessa Special Cirrus took the lead early by only a nose and ended up narrowly defeating Switching to 307 and Favorite Fire Boy was third.

Osten Kay won the second race. Osten Kay was ridden by Danny Marshall and owned by Allan and Pam Ostdahl. Won the 300-yard race with a time of 15.87, nosing out Lane 307 and Sixs Cb Ryon. Osten Kay paid 27.80 to win, 8.20 to place and 5.40 to show. The exacta paid 441.40.

Dp Regal Dynasty owned by Steve Morgan, trained by Tyson Morgan and ridden by Daniel Carillo. This was the first outing for Dp Regal Dynasty and the horse won the 300 yard event with a time of 15.823, and paid 13.40 to win. Eyessa Special Cucouy placed and Tiny Capitana showed.

Super Sonic Moves ridden by Jesus Valenzuela and owned by Dan and Patricia Baker, won race four with a time of 15.531. Innosent Cat placed and Darlins Dynasty showed.

Race five was another two year old, 300-yard race where Foose Dust, ridden by Jesus Valenzuela won the race and Tanquery Dash placed with TrUintas Dasher showed.

A Toast to Brindis, owned by Gerald F. Kaul and trained by Jesse Villegas, won race six with a time of 15.572. Dust Stone placed and Kr American Pi showed.
