Wilma Jeanette “Jet” Semsey passed away on Aug. 10. She was born on July 7, 1933, in Paris, Texas. Her mother died at her birth; her aunt and uncle, whom she considered her parents, raised her. She was very close to her grandfather and told beautiful stories of the time she spent with him.

She lived in several states including Arizona, California, Texas and Wyoming. She was well known in the Evanston community through her work at the cleaners, boutique, The Greenhorn, and as a caregiver.

Jet married Andrew Semsey, the love of her, life on May 27, 1988, in Evanston; he passed on June 5, 2008. Her two sons, Paul Doug Pyron and James Alan Dabbs, survive her.

Her home and yard were always immaculate, as was she. She loved to get dressed up, her love for dancing never left her and she loved to go shopping and out to eat. Her friends and family were very important to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family offers special thanks to Best Home Health and Hospice for the love and care they have provided for her — especially Sara Shields, Samantha Hale and Tanya Bertagnolli.

Ecclesiastes 3: “To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven: a time to weep, and a time to laugh: a time to mourn, and a time to dance.”

We hope you are dancing in the sky.

Per her wishes, her body was donated to science. There will be a celebration of life at a later time.
