William E. “Billy B.” Bettinson

Billy B. passed of natural causes in his home on Thursday, May 14. Billy B. got his nickname from his years as a well-known DJ for KEVA Radio in Evanston and KTHO Radio in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Billy also had talent and a passion for drumming. Through the years he played in many bands throughout Wyoming and Utah.

Among other interests, Billy B. loved performing magic shows for his nieces, nephews and grandchildren. More recently, he took up the hobby flying drones and loved posting his videos online to share with friends and family.

Billy is survived by his parents, Francis and Comet Bettinson; his loving wife, Cathy Bettinson; brothers, Robert (Rachel) Bettinson, Tim (Ilene) Bettinson, Kubby Bettinson and Troy (Heather) Bettinson; sister, Brenda (Travis) Talbot; children, Paul (Judy) Bettinson, Billie Marie (Filemon) Magana, Jennifer (Ryan) Johnson Schwettman, Lisa (Stephan) Johnson, Jonathan (Cheyenne) Oliver, Jeremy Bettinson and Justin Buckner; and 17 grandchildren

He is preceded in death by Everett (Ellen) Bettinson; Sherman (Mary) Rollins; sister, Ellen Lavern; stepson, Joseph Sadler; and numerous uncles and aunts.

At this time there will be no services due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be a graveyard service and a celebration of life on a later date yet to be determined. To help with funeral expenses in lieu flowers there has been an account set up at Evanston’s First Bank under “Billy B. Fund.”
