AFTON – The Evanston and Lyman volleyball teams squared off in the championship game of the Gold Division on Saturday at the Star Valley Invitational.
The Lady Eagles came away with 21-15, 20-21, 15-7 victory.
In pool play “B” Evanston opened up with a 21-7, 21-13 win against Ririe (Idaho). The Lady Red Devils then played Lyman, where the Lady Eagles won 19-21, 21-17, 15-13.
Evanston bounced back to beat Malad, 20-21, 21-16, 15-11, while Lyman held off Ririe, 21-14, 21-14 to conclude pool play.
In Gold Division play, the Lady Red Devils claimed a 12-21, 21-13, 15-14 over Sugar Salem. Lyman knocked off Star Valley 5-21. 21-14, 15-13 to send the Lady Eagles and Evanston to the championship round.
The Lady Red Devils are now 12-8 on the year and play at 6 p.m. today at Rock Springs.
Lyman (12-3) is at Kemmerer at 7 p.m. Thursday, while Mountain View (7-6) is in action again on Friday at the Casper Invitational.
