Victor Glen Hughes passed away Wednesday, March 10, at the Rocky Mountain Care Center, where he has resided for the last three years. Victor was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Evanston, to Glen B. and Rebecca Limb Hughes.

He went to work at an early age to help support his family. He started working at Freeman’s Café, moved to the Wyoming State Hospital and then spent 32 years at Evanston High School. Victor joined the National Guard at age 17. He served as a member for 22 years.

Victor was known as a kind, considerate and hardworking man. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, walking his dog and visiting with people he met who had time to talk. He enjoyed collecting and refurbishing items he found on his rambles that others had discarded.

Victor is survived by two sons, Neil and Dwight; two grandsons, Nicholas and Isaac; and a special daughter-in-law, Joella. He left one brother, two sisters and 26 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers, one sister and six nephews and nieces.

A memorial service is planned for Victor this summer. The family would like anyone with memories to come and share. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Uinta County Senior Citizens.
