All Wyoming motor vehicle registration state fees will increase on July 1.
House Bill 218 (sponsored by the Wyoming Legislative Appropriations Committee) was sponsored by the Wyoming Legislative Appropriations Committee and passed the Wyoming Legislature this year. It
The fees will increase between $13-$30 on all vehicles, depending on the type. Vehicle owners with a plate expiration due date after July 1 may come to the Uinta County Treasurer’s Office or mail their registration payment before July 1 to renew early and avoid paying the increased fees for this year. The expiration month will not change with an early renewal.
For example, those whose plates will expire on Sept. 30 but who renew their plates in June will keep the same September expiration month for 2018.
Commercial vehicles with gross vehicle combination weights between 26,000-80,000 pounds will also see an increase of between $18-$82.50. If the vehicle’s gross vehicle weight exceeds 80,000 pounds, the fees will be $948.75 plus $25 for every additional $2,000 or fraction thereof.
The full fee increases can be found on legisweb.state.wy.us/2017/Enroll/HB0218.pdf.
