Vay Anna Davidson Apgood, 86, of Lyman, passed from this life on Oct. 4, in Murray, Utah, surrounded by loving family members.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14, at the Lyman LDS Stake Center in Urie. Following the services, burial will be at the Lyman Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, and from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Vay was born in Fort Bridger, on June 6, 1931, to Marion N. and Inez Elizabeth (Hollingshead) Davidson. She grew up in Evanston, and graduated from high school there.

While working at Safeway, she met her future husband, Elmon Lyle Apgood. They were married on May 28, 1950. They lived in the northwest for a time, finally settling in Kalispell, Montana.

They were sealed together as a family for time and all eternity in the Alberta Temple on June 20, 1964. They worked many years in the grocery business, eventually operating their own store in Lyman.

Vay was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and she served in many callings. She served in the Arizona Phoenix Mission from 1995 to 1996.

Vay was a member of the Uinta County Historical Society and she also enjoyed reading, art, quilting, gardening and cooking. Her brownies were amazing!

Vay loved people. Even when strangers would call the house for whatever reason, she would ask their name and about what was going on in their life. She made people feel they were important.

Her greatest joy was her family, whom she loved dearly. She led a life of service to the Lord, her family and her community.

Vay was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Inez Norris; brother-in-law, Gerald Norris; nephew, Ron Norris; two brothers, Marion Davidson and David Davidson; son-in-law, Bruce Aimone; and two grandchildren, Lindsey and Spencer Apgood.

She is survived by her brothers, Ted (Carolyn) Davidson and Mike Gardea; sisters, Frances (Glen) Frerichs and Darlene (Scot) Seitz; sisters-in-law, Ila Apgood Mineer, Karen L Davidson and Joan Davidson; children, Elmon (Laurel) Apgood, David (Denice) Apgood, Christine (Rex) Bluemel, Brenda (Bruce) Christensen, Ken Apgood, Marianne (Jack) Bluemel and Susan (Eric) Woody; 33 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
