Locomotive No. 844 stops in Evanston Thursday morning as dozens of community members brave the cold to get a look at the train. Following stops in Idaho, Utah and several places in Wyoming, the Union Pacific steam engine is scheduled to arrive in Cheyenne at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. No. 844, the Living Legend, returned to service in 2016, to pull the Cheyenne Frontier Days special and then journeyed to Memphis for the grand opening of Big River Crossing. Meanwhile, work continues to restore the Big Boy, No. 4014. (HERALD PHOTO/Jamie Durrant)
