Editor’s note: Information contained in this report is compiled from a daily activity log and an arrest record maintained by the Uinta County Sheriff’s Office. VIN inspections are not included. Those arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law; charges listed may not reflect final disposition of cases.

The Uinta County Sheriff’s Office responded to 97 incidents between the dates of Monday, Jan. 1, and Sunday, Jan. 7. Incidents included five ambulance or medical assists, six animal problems, six agency assists, bond revocation, child abuse or neglect, three citizen assists, controlled substance use, controlled substance possession, three drug tests, two driving under suspensions and a fire.

Deputies also responded to a report of fraud, harassment, 17 information reports, three jail offenses, a juvenile problem, two keep the peace incidents, lost or found property, two livestock problems, a missing person, a noise problem, a parking problem, non-vandalism property damage, a protection order violation, a prisoner transport, a rancher contact, two suspicions, a traffic accident with property damage, a traffic hazard, two traffic offenses, property theft, nine wanted persons and two welfare checks.

The Uinta County Sheriff’s Office arrested eight persons between the dates of Jan. 1 and Jan. 7.

One arrest record was redacted due to the nature of the offense.

Alfred E. Fenn, of Evanston, was arrested for prohibited access to a school by a sex offender.

Jerry G. Huntington, of Lyman, was arrested for failing to appear.

William H. Jeffs, of Heber, Utah, was arrested for possessing a controlled substance, being under the influence of a controlled substance and a drug violation. 

Robert L. Piercy, of Mountain View, was arrested for a drug court sanction.

Gale. O. Stapley, of Magna, Utah, was arrested for attempt/conspiracy. 

Jason T. Stroh, of Lyman, was arrested for a child support offense.

Skyler R. Walker, of Lyman, was arrested on an out-of-county warrant.
