Uinta County Sheriff’s Office incidents
March 23 - April 12, 2020
Editor’s note: Information contained in this report is compiled from a daily activity log and an arrest record maintained by the Uinta County Sheriff’s Office. VIN inspections are not included. Those arrested are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law; charges listed may not reflect final disposition of cases.
The Uinta County Sheriff’s Office responded to 207 incidents between the dates of Monday, March 23, and Sunday, April 12. Incidents included two abandoned vehicles, two alarms, 12 ambulance or medical assists, five animal problems, 10 agency assists, two child abuse or neglect incidents, two citizen complaints, a citizen dispute, eight citizen assists, a citizen investigative contact, two civil problems, four civil process services, controlled substance use, marijuana possession, four controlled substance possessions, four domestic violence incidents, two DWUS incidents, two family fights, six fires, a gunshot wound, harassment, 39 information reports, seven background investigations, four jail offenses, five livestock problems, lost or found property, a minor in possession of alcohol, a missing person, non-vandalism property damage, a parking problem, six prisoner transports, three rancher contacts, three suspicious incidents, four traffic accidents with property damage, two traffic complaints, a traffic offense, six property thefts, unsecure premises, vandalism, three wanted persons and seven welfare checks.
The Uinta County Sheriff’s Office arrested five persons between the dates of March 23 and April 12.
Joshua R. Gorringe, of Evanston, was arrested for failing to appear.
John P. Hankin, of Evanston, was arrested for forgery/counterfeiting.
Edgar Rivera, of Gillette, was arrested for possessing a controlled substance.
Federico F. Torres, of Evanston, was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, possessing a controlled substance and misdemeanor probation violation.
Steven A. Zaragoza, of Bear River, was arrested for domestic battery.
