EVANSTON — Uinta County Fire and Ambulance crews were busy on the morning of Monday, Oct. 9, following overnight snowfall, with Bridger Valley crews responding to three different motor vehicle accidents before 11 a.m. A post on the Uinta County Fire and Ambulance Facebook page said that a rollover crash at mile marker 39 on Interstate 80, at approximately 7 a.m., resulted in two fatalities.
The Wyoming Highway Patrol couldn’t be reached for comment, but county fire warden Eric Quinney told the Herald in an email that the pickup involved in the rollover had out-of-state license plates.
Another accident on I-80, just prior to 9 a.m. at mile marker 44, involved a motorcycle driver losing control of the vehicle. The driver was subsequently taken to Evanston Regional Hospital in stable condition. Just before 11 a.m. a third accident involving two vehicles occurred on Highway 414 in front of Benedict’s Market.
The Facebook post urged drivers to use caution and slow down when roads might be slick due to weather. It also encouraged drivers to make sure tires are in good condition and to carry emergency supplies in vehicles.
