EVANSTON — Lady Red Devil and Red Devil track and field got their respective seasons started on back-to-back days in Kaysville, Utah, at the Davis Super Meet, hosted by Davis High School.

The girls’ team scored 10 points, placing 13th out of 16 teams competing, with the vast majority of teams hailing from Utah. Evanston’s points came by way of Breila Fuller who scored six points with a third-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:27.35. Fuller tacked on an additional two points with a seventh-place effort in the 1600-meter run, clocking a time of 5:28.94.  Fellow senior Reghan Worley contributed two points for a seventh-place finishing time of 12:26.89, in the 3200-meter run.

The Red Devil boys’ team scored 19 points as a team, to tie with Layton for 11th place among the 14 teams competing. The 4 x 400 relay team placed fourth, scoring five points, as did Cris Periman for a fourth-place finish in the pole vault, clearing 12 feet. Bridger Barker scored two points for a seventh-place finish in the discus, and Tyrell Halladay did likewise in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:03.99.

Both teams were to compete in the Lyman Invitational today, but it’s been canceled.
