Toddler drowns in Bridger Valley

Posted

The Uinta County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the death of a 2-year-old that occurred over the weekend. According to a press release issued Wednesday, the toddler was found unresponsive in a swimming pool in Milburne during a family reunion on Saturday, Aug. 28.

“Lifesaving efforts were immediately administered and the child was transported by ambulance to Evanston Regional Hospital,” the press release states. “The child was then airlifted to Utah for further treatment.”

The release indicates the child passed away two days later, on Monday, Aug. 30.

“The incident was determined to have been a tragic accident,” the release states. Uinta County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Brooke Hale said the child was visiting from Idaho for the reunion, and did not release the name of the child, saying the sheriff’s office hasn’t confirmed that immediate family had been notified of the death.
