EVANSTON — A trio of Evanston High School athletes have been honored by the Wyoming High School Activities Association (WHSAA) for their exemplary conduct and good sportsmanship. UCSD No. 1 Superintendent Ryan Thomas said WHSAA recognizes sportsmanship at the conclusion of each season by sending letters to school principals across the state. Student names are submitted by game/meet officials who witness outstanding conduct. Thomas said it is rare for students to be recognized because names are not submitted after every event but only when behavior truly warrants it. As a game official himself, Thomas said, out of the 11 football games he officiated this season, officials only recognized two students.
Red Devil football players Bryson Davis and Jaxin Moore were recognized for their exemplary conduct and good sportsmanship during the Rawlins vs. Evanston game on Sept. 6 and the Evanston v. Powell game on Sept. 27, respectively. Lady Devils swimmer Jocelyn Roper was honored for her behavior during the Evanston-Sublette County-Kemmerer swim meet.
