Theodora Ann (Jones) Babbitt passed away on April 5.

Her life began in Laramie on July 4, 1942, with rockets and fireworks. For 74 years, she shared her birthday with the nation in many communities. She married Buck in the Salt Lake Temple on July 5, 1963. After the birth and education of their three children and an LDS couples mission in Japan, they settled in Casper for the last 13 years.

After a seven-year journey with cancer, Teddi Ann passed away under the tender care of the Central Wyoming Hospice with loving family surrounding her. Teddi’s faith in God and love for family and others supported her through the end.

She was the beloved wife of Clayton (Buck) Marshall Babbitt Jr.; mother of Teddi Michelle, Micheal Daren and Kari Ann; mother-in-law of Mark Smothermon and Mark Harris; and grandmother to Sarah and Casey Chaffin, Kierstin and Jordan Madsen, Ethan and Ashley Harris, Allyn and Desmond Bennion and Buck Harris.

She was known as “Gigi” to Emme, Scarlett, Cali, Alydia, Margot, Revel, Brighton and Roam. She was the sister of Mary (Jones) Gardner, Robert Jones (deceased) and sister-in-law Nancy.

Teddi Ann’s remarkable life demonstrated love, grace and endurance. Wherever she lived, she built a community of respect, generosity and kindness. Her spirit and influence will live on.

The service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 10, at the LDS Church on 7th and Missouri Street in Casper. The interment will immediately follow the service at the Oregon Trails VA Cemetery. Presiding will be Jason Paris, Second Counselor of the Casper Stake Presidency.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City.
