EVANSTON — Dynamite comes in small packages. While small in numbers, the Lady Red Devil swimming and diving team has never been short on heart and desire. The EHS team roster barely qualified as double-digit this season, but that did not prevent the team from scoring 43 points at the state meet in Laramie this past weekend, finishing ahead of both Natrona County and Cheyenne East, along with breaking a longstanding school record for the 200-yard medley relay. Addy Fernandez (backstroke) McKinzey Camphouse (butterfly) Rachel Buzarde (freestyle) and Heather Buzarde (breaststroke) broke the EHS school record previously held by Tanya Vandermay, Anneliese Millburg, Megan Addy and Stephanie Fuller. The record time had been 2:02.30. The new record time is 2:01.00.
A more complete state meet and season recap story will be featured in a future issue of the Herald.
