Stephen C. Parkin

Posted

Steve was born in Evanston, on June 9, 1951, to Leo and Bette Parkin.

He graduated from Evanston High School in 1969, and attended a technical school in Denver before moving to Salt Lake City. After leaving the Salt Lake and Evanston area in 1984, he moved to Arizona where he worked as a diesel mechanic until retirement.

He enjoyed working on cars and would spend hours rebuilding old cars and trucks.  When his health was good, he also enjoyed skiing, fishing, hunting and spending time outside.

Stephen passed away on Sept. 27, after a long battle with heart disease.

He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Alan Parkin.

Stephen is survived by his wife of 28 years, Connie Parkin; two daughters, Stephanie Smale and Jennifer Parkin; his older brother Brent (Maxine) Parkin; and his younger sister, Denise (Pete) Peterson. He also leaves behind one grandchild, Cheyenne Lewis.

The family asks that donations be made to the Children’s Heart Foundation in lieu of flowers.
